Anthony Stoika is a jazz and classical percussionist and composer and performs a wide range of repertoire consisting of jazz standards, original compositions, and contemporary works for percussion. He attended Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV where he graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Music Performance with an emphasis in Jazz. He performs regularly in the DMV on both drums and vibraphone.
Along with performing, Anthony is an award winning music educator. (Pete Durand Music for Everyone Outstanding Music Educator Award) He has been teaching private lessons, classes, and coaching ensembles since 2016. His goal as an instructor is to promote an appreciation for all kinds of music and to help his students in setting and reaching their musical goals. He believes in using music that students already know and enjoy to teach technical concepts about their specific instrument and about music as a whole. During their lessons, his students will focus on mastering essential musical concepts such as rhythm, dynamics, technique, form, and the ability to effectively play in an ensemble.
